When you're almost asleep and suddenly remember something you forgot to do.
You're three millimeters from unconsciousness when your brain screams that you never confirmed the dentist appointment. So you're awake again, and now you're lying there at 11:47 PM calculating whether texting "is dental work even real" counts as confirmation. It doesn't. Your brain knows it doesn't. Your brain is going to remind you again tomorrow night at exactly the same depth of almost-sleep, like some kind of vengeful snooze alarm that learned to talk.
