I spent three minutes building up to why I couldn't make dinner, got as far as "My boss asked me to—" and my friend said "Oh, you're working late again, typical." I wasn't working late. I was going to say my boss asked me to help him move his sofa, which I'm pretty sure violates labor law but I'll never know because apparently I'm the type of person who works late.
