when you're trying to ask someone a question but you forget what you were going to say halfway through
You open your mouth, lock eyes with someone, and say "So I was wondering—" and your brain just evicts the thought like it's a squatter. Now you're standing there with your face doing that thing where it's asking the question instead of your mouth, and the other person's smile slowly calcifies into pure concern. "Never mind, it was stupid anyway," you lie, knowing full well it was either genius or absolutely vital, but your brain chose that exact millisecond to go completely dark. They nod sympathetically, which somehow makes it worse, because now you both know you're a person whose thoughts have a fire escape.
